restoration of abbey

1971 – cleaning of the abbey in order to find the original level of the ground and clearing of the 7 ha park.

1973 – reconstruction of the roof damaged during WWI with the help of war damages and putting in of temporary doors and window-panes.

1976-7 – putting in of 3 stained-glass windows in the chapterhouse and 1 in the auditorium.

1986 – rebuilding of the front gable of the Monks'Quarters.

1988 – closing of the front windows and excavations to try to locate the foundations of the church . Uncovering of the chancel and ambulatory.

1989 – putting in of 3 stained-glass windows in the scriptorium.

1993 – beginning of the work on the western part of the Palace of the Abbot.

1995 – installation of a chapel and renovation of the second gable of the Palace of the Abbot.

1996 – roofing of the western part of the Palace of the Abbot and putting in of floorboards.

2001-2 – installation of a room to welcome visitors on the ground floor of the Palace of the Abbot.

2003 – refurbishing of the first floor of the western part of the 18th century Palace of the Abbot.

2004-5 – reconstruction of the missing vault in the 12th century scriptorium.

2006-7 – roofing of the Palace of the Abbot.

2008 – purchase of a statue representing a meditating Cistercian monk. Installation of the 18 columns of the church so as to help visualize the nave and reconstruction of 2 out of the 30 windows set on the first floor of the Monks'Quarters.

2013 - all the vaults have been restored and the pavements of the chapter house.
